Zazen the act of sitting in meditation.

Shikantaza is one of several ways that someone can practice with zazen. It is the practice of “just sitting,” without directing the mind in any particular manner. Shikantaza literally means, “nothing but (shikan) precisely (ta) sitting (za).” Shikantaza is primarily practiced in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition.

Mokuso is a Zen meditation practice performed in martial arts to clear the mind before engaging in combat.
