Tag Archives: Perennial Plant Sale and workshops at UBC Botanical Garden

A Growing Affair, which replaces the popular and long-running annual “Perennial Plant Sale” on May 7 at 10am – 4pm in Vancouver. The event includes plants for sale and also features fun, hands-on workshops for both new and experienced gardeners. The event is designed to inform and empower plant lovers of all ages to do more with their gardens, patios and balconies, large or small, and to engage children with a deeper appreciation for all things growing.

Workshop topics for novice and experienced gardeners will range from how to choose and grow great ornamental plants and vegetables to composting, bees, bugs and more. Included at the event is a children’s area, where future gardeners can roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, and take away their own plant.

For those who have come to rely on the Botanical Garden’s spring plant sale for its spectacular array of native, perennial, unusual, and edible plants, (not to mention great prices) A Growing Affair is sure to please even the most discerning gardener. As always, we offer only the highest quality of plants, with most of the plants having been grown at the garden by our knowledgeable volunteers and staff. Plants featured in the “From our Garden to Your Garden” program will also be for sale.
