The Khan Academy aims to provide a free world-class education to anyone anywhere. The free educational offering of the Khan Academy is already remarkable. Khan Academy video collection covers K-12 math, science topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and reaches into the humanities with playlists on finance and history. Each video is a digestible chunk, approximately 10 minutes long, and especially purposed for viewing on the computer.

Salman Khan is the founder of Khan Academy. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After earning three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School, he starting to upload tutorials on YouTube. Their popularity there and the testimonials of appreciative students prompted Khan to quit his job in finance as a hedge fund analyst at Connective Capital Management in 2009 and focus on the tutorials (then released under the name “Khan Academy“) full-time.
