To begin the new year for the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education Speakers Series, Dr Mark Greenberg will give a talk at SFU Harbour Centre on February 2. Dr Greenberg believes that to create a more caring and compassionate society we need to promote skills and environments that support children, their teachers and their families. He will present findings from studies nurturing mindfulness in the classroom, mindfulness in families, and a study on the effects of yoga on youth development.

Mark Greenberg, Ph.D. holds The Bennett Endowed Chair in Prevention Research in Penn State’s College of Health and Human Development. He is the Director of the Prevention Research Center for the Promotion of Human Development and is one of the authors of the PATHS Curriculum that is used in thousands of schools in over 20 countries. He is the author of more than 200 journal articles and book chapters on developmental psychopathology, well-being, and the effects of prevention efforts on children and families.
