Moshav (מוֹשָׁב) is a type of Israeli town or settlement, in particular a type of cooperative agricultural community. Moshav are classified as Moshav ovdim (מושב עובדים‎) and Moshav shitufi (מושב שיתופי‎).

Moshav ovdim (workers’ moshav) is a workers cooperative settlement in Israel. Moshav ovdim are the more numerous (405) Moshav type and relies on cooperative purchasing of supplies and marketing of produce. The family/household is the basic unit of production and consumption. It is considered as the classical Moshav, a village-level service cooperative that takes care of farm services (such as marketing, supply, and credit) for its members, while all production and consumption activities are handled at the level of families and households.

Moshav shitufi (collective moshav) is a collective smallholder’s settlement in Israel. This Moshav combines the economic features of a kibbutz with the social features of a moshav. In a Moshav shitufi, farming is done collectively and profits are shared equally; production and marketing are collective. This form is closer to the collectivity of the kibbutz. However, consumption is family- or household-based. Unlike the moshav ovdim, land is not allotted to households or individuals, but is collectively worked. The first moshav shitufi, Kfar Hittim in Lower Galilee, was established in 1936. There are about 40 Moshav shitufi in Israel.
