Amazon will release two Kindle Tablets (7-inch Kindle Coyote tablet, 10-inch Kindle Hollywood tablet) on Android, on time for holidays. Both Kindle Tablets will be cheaper than $499 iPad 2. You can see here the versions of Amazon Kindle currently available.
Amazon Kindle Tablet Hollywood will include a promotional video service, free to buyers for a certain amount of time, according to investment firm Detwiler Fenton.
Kindle Hollywood price at $449 (equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor), and 7-inch “Coyote” Kindle tablet (quad-core Tegra T30 “Kal-El” SoC) at $349, will put pressure on iPad, and more expensive tablets, such as Motorola’s Xoom and RIM’s BlackBerry Playbook.
Amazon is going to have to compromise on displays to get these tablets to market by holidays time. Qualcomm’s miracol displays won’t be ready for mass market until 2012, so Kindle tablets will have to ditch the e-paper for LCD.
Will Apple iPad feel the pressure from Amazon’s Kindle tablets features and prices?
