Motivational Interviewing in Health Care is offered at UBC Vancouver. Social service and health care providers increasingly recognize the benefits of using Motivational Interviewing (MI) in relation to overcoming resistance, increasing readiness, and initiating and guiding conversations that support health related change. In this two-day workshop, you gain basic familiarity with MI core elements, clinical style and strategies that are helpful in addressing health concerns such as substance use, diabetes, mental health, chronic illness and disease prevention. No previous experience in MI is necessary.
