As reported by Wendy Cook on Nationalledger.com and Jason Boog on Mediabistro.com, Sex and the City beauty Kristin Davis is headed to TV for laughs. According to Astro Chicks, the sexy lady forever known as Charlotte York Goldenblatt has scored the lead NBC role in “The Happiness Project.”
According to the report, the TV show will be based on the best selling memoir by Gretchen Rubin and is the story of one woman’s quest to become a happier person.
Gretchen Rubin‘s memoir focused on a year “spent test-driving the wisdom of the ages, the current scientific studies, and the lessons from popular culture about how to be happy–from Aristotle to Martin Seligman to Thoreau to Oprah.” Rubin wrote 40 Ways to Look at Winston Churchill before publishing her bestselling memoir–dubbed “a cross between the Dalai Lama’s The Art of Happiness and Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love” by author Sonya Lyubomirsky.
Here’s more about the show from The Hollywood Reporter: “The single-camera, half-hour project will be produced by Universal Media Studios and Mosaic. Kristin Newman (Chuck, How Met Your Mother) is in negotiations to write the pilot and executive produce. Jimmy Miller and Dave Fleming will also executive produce.”
As reported on ThaIndian.com: The comedy series is based on the best-selling memoir written by Gretchen Rubin. However NBC has indicated that the script for the show will be written by the famous writer Kristin Newman (from the ‘How I Met Your Mother’ fame). Rubin a former clerk for the Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O’Connor has written the book on her real-life experiences.
Kristin newman is likely to become the executive producer for the upcoming comedy series as well. The grapevine suggests that Kristin davis was a regular follower of the blog version of ‘The Happiness Project’ and she took up the initiative to make a TV adaptation. The comedy series will show Kristin trying all the popular recipes for happiness for a whole year.
Her character will be seen trying out the most common notions like noticing the little things in life, smiling, exercising etc. Since Kristin Davis has been a huge fan of this series and she is likely to impress the audience with her tips on how to find happiness.
